Developer Tools for Migrating from Camunda 7

Under the Hood Technical Series | Monthly Migration Lab Hybrid

Save Your Seat

We're combining our Under the Hood and Monthly Migration Lab for a developer-focused, technical, deep dive into Camunda 7's migration tooling.

What to expect

Migrating from Camunda 7 to 8 can feel like a big leap, but you don’t have to do it alone or reinvent the wheel. In this session, we'll take a hands-on look at the migration tooling that can help you streamline your migration.

  • We’ll demo the Migration Analyzer & Diagram Converter, which scans your BPMN models and pinpoints what needs to change (and what’s ready to go).
  • We'll walk through the Data Migrator for moving active Camunda 7 runtime instances to Camunda 8.
  • We’ll review the Code Converter, including the API mapping guide, code conversion patterns, and OpenRewrite recipes, in addition to the Diagram Converter.

We'll talk about where these tools shine, where they're still growing, and how you can use them most effectively in real-world projects.

If you’re a developer or tech lead tasked with actually making the migration happen—not just deciding whether to do it—this session is for you. Bring your questions, your edge cases, and your curiosity.

Nathan Loding

Developer Advocate, Camunda

Nathan Loding
I'm a nerd, and proud of it! I love solving problems and technology is the best way to do that. I work professionally as a Developer Advocate for Camunda. On the side I'm a husband, father, collector of hobbies, gardener, and outdoorsman (hiking, camping, canoeing/kayaking). I enjoy working analog, with my hands, whenever possible. I hate chores and cleaning up after myself.
